Toshiba accuses Samsung of intellectual property infringement

Toshiba Confirms Toshiba Claiming Infringement of Samsung NAND (NAND) Flash Memory Patents and Certain DRAM Patents.

Prior to that, a Toshiba spokesman said the companies had an agreement on NAND flash memory, which however ended last year. Since the companies did not come to a consensus on the terms on which to extend the agreement, Toshiba decided that it had no choice but to sue Samsung.

Toshiba’s lawsuit also includes DRAM patent infringement allegations. The lawsuit was filed with the Tokyo District Court, the New Jersey District Court (in the United States) and the United States International Trade Commission (U.S. International Trade Commission).
