With a press release from today, Intel Corporation has officially announced the release of three new Pentium 4 processors with clock speeds of 2.53 GHz, 2.40 GHz and 2.26 GHz and a 533 MHz system bus. In addition, the company announced the release of the new 850E chipset with support for 533/400 MHz FSB and RDRAM memory.

The new Pentium 4 processors are equipped with 512 KB L2 cache and are manufactured using the 0.13 micron process technology. The wholesale cost (from 1 thousand pieces) of chips with clock frequencies of 2.53 GHz, 2.4 GHz and 2.26 GHz is, respectively, $ 637, $ 562 and $ 423. The 850E (82850E MCH) chipset is housed in a 615-pin Organic Land Grid Array (OLGA) package and ships at a wholesale price of $ 37 (in quantities starting at 1,000).

Intel today began shipping a boxed version of the 2.53 GHz Pentium 4 processor, as well as two new D850EMV2 motherboards (pictured below) and D850EMD2 on the 850E chipset.
