Intel discontinues ten processor models

Intel announced the discontinuation of ten processor models: Socket 370 Pentium III and Socket 478 Pentium 4 1.5 GHz.

So, the following processors are becoming a thing of the past:

  • 1 GHz Pentium III, Socket 370 (FC-PGA / FC-PGA2)
  • 1.5 GHz Pentium 4, Socket 478 (mPGA478)
  • 866 MHz Mobile Pentium III-M (mFBGA2)
  • 750 LV Mobile Pentium III-M (mFBGA2)
  • 800 MHz Mobile Celeron (BGA2 / mPGA2)
  • 1.5 GHz Xeon (MPGA)
  • 1.7 GHz Xeon (MPGA)
  • 2.0 GHz Xeon (MPGA)
  • 866 LV Mobile Pentium III-M
  • 750 MHz Mobile Pentium III-M

The reason is standard: a decrease in demand for the listed models under the pressure of new more productive models, the release of production facilities for the release of new products.
