Omron take-out fingerprinting

Japanese Omron Announces Miniature Fingerprint Reader and Recognition Unit for Identification Systems.

The FPP3700 module is equipped with a sensor and a small electronic unit, which allows all identification procedures to be performed without connecting to a PC. The block memory can store up to one hundred fingerprints (one fingerprint takes about 11 KB of memory), which are recognized using a miniature CMOS sensor. The process of “fingerprinting” takes about 1 second.

The module can be used as an independent recognition identification unit as part of various watchdog systems. Using the RS-232C interface, the module can also be connected to a computer. In this case, it becomes possible to external control the FPP3700 settings. The module has dimensions of 45 x 56 x 29 mm, weight 40 grams, power supply is in the range of 3.6 – 6.0 V and will go on sale for about $ 150.
