Today VIA officially unveiled the long-awaited VIA Apollo KT333 chipset with support for JEDEC-approved DDR200 / 266/333 memory standards, for Socket A processors from AMD.
The new KT333 (VT8367) chipset will be equipped with a VT8233A south bridge (ATA133 support) or VT8233C (Ethernet 3COM support). The new chipset supports the AGP 4x bus, but does not work with AGP 8x – its support, as well as an increase in the V-Link bus bandwidth up to 533 Mb / s plus support for USB 2.0, left for the next version of the chipset – KT333A. The V-Link bus between the south and north bridges of the KT333 has a bandwidth of 266 Mb / s.
